Trinity College and Seminary/ Liverpool

I remember much discussion about Liberpool U (UK) "acceptance and endorsement" of degrees from Trinity College and Seminary of Indiana. I never understood WHY Liverpool did this. Does anyone know? Is there a discussion I missed?

Horsethief Canyon?...Warguns?...hmmm. if you're a Trinity fan I er, that is probably am mistaken,,,uh, likely the reason Trinity collected $225 "accreditation" fee for the U of L is that Liverpool really believes Trinity work=University work, yep that's it

BMAN

I was "at" Trinity for a year. I finished three courses. I'd not done any formal study since '94 and was very anxious. I really wanted into a wholly DL PhD or ThD in Theology, but could find nothing in the USA and was unaware of UK, SA, or Australian programs. Thus I feel the need for a revised, fuller edition of Walston's or Baker's guides! Also, I didn't grasp accreditation. I stumbled on this forum and began a defense of Trinity. When I became aware of my real situation thru posters as North and several others, I went about trying to fix it. My discontent re Trinity is specific.

I detest the confusing claims Trinity makes re accreditatiion and utility. It knows very well in the UK and in SA when a university "accredits" another school then degrees are transferable and higher degrees may even be issued by the accrediting university. This is not the case with the Trinity, Liverpool, Christchurch trinal relationship! The Trinity "accreditation", when compared with RA , has no value, and Trinity knows this! Rather than saying upfront "We are not accredited and likely our degree will not be accepted elsewhere and we are a JOKE in academe," Trinity confuses good folks and takes their money ($3000 of mine) by playing word games. Recently I was on the Trinity forum and challenged one of the profs, "Are you saying the Trinity DA qualifies one to teach in an RA school?" He would not answer, instead of with bold honesty being upfront for all readers to see, he wished me to call him! But such claims are cloudily made in the catalogue! Students post on the Trinity forum their intent to land a teaching position after graduation. We are blinded by our ambition we are hooked by the bait of fulfillment and Trinity does nothing to correct our vision or to reveal the sharp point of the hook beneath the bait; rather its spouts off re global recognition and touts anecdotal successes! But I still maintain that Trinity expects a reasonable amount of work and that one can learn there. I am not saying it is a mill.

Even if Trinity becomes RA tomorrow, it will not redeem the thousands of yesterdays it lied to get enrollees and misrepresented to get into their wallets. Trinity should repent and change its ways NOW!

They should. The problem is that they probably have a successful business formula and as a general rule it will take much more than a touch of remorse to change it.

San Diego

Bill H

How's San Diego these days? I was born, raised, and taught school there for seven years. Left in '77
